Producer Information
A historic trading house and estate, Pierre Ponnelle was founded at the end of the 19th century. Its creation was driven by Pierre-Lazare Ponnelle, whose pioneering spirit led to numerous experiments devoted to the fermentation process (which had not yet revealed all its secrets at the time). Ponnelle even collaborated with Louis Pasteur, who lived in Dle, not far from Beaune. He was succeeded by his sons and his grandson Albert, who preferred to create his own business, the Pierre Ponnelle house thus ceasing to exist. Today, the company founded by Albert Ponnelle is managed by his grandson, Pierre, and is located in Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy.
