        Producer Information

Mommessin is a ngociant based at Quinci-en-Beaujolais, making a range of wines from various appellations in Beaujolais, Burgundy and the Rhne. The Mommessin ngociant business was purchased by Boisset in the 1990s and subsequently moved to Beaujolais. It had previously been a family firm, based in the Maconnais region and producing a wide range of wines from Burgundy appellations. Mommessin’s main claim to fame was its purchase of the Clos de Tart Grand Cru in Morey-Saint-Denis in 1932, a property that the Mommessin family retained and owned until 2017 when it was sold to the billionaire Franois Pinault. Today, Mommessin makes wines from around the south and east of France. The Beaujolais line-up is headed by a Morgon Cte de Py and Morgon Les Charmes, followed by numerous village-level wines, Beaujolais-Villages, Beaujolais Nouveau and a Beaujolais Blanc Chardonnay. Burgundy wines include La Cl Saint Pierre Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Macon-Villages and Cte de Beaune-Villages. A wide range of Rhne wines including Chteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Ctes-du-Rhne is produced under several labels. The portfolio is underpinned by the Cuve Saint Pierre range of Vin de France wines.
