Red Wine: 1985 | Dervieux-Thaize | Cote Rotie La Garde Cote Blonde
Pale in colour, perhaps just a little turbid, the bouquet offers gorgeous scents of garrigues, black truffles, a touch of the old farmyard, strawberries and clove, all beautifully defined, old school and utterly intoxicating.

Pale in colour, perhaps just a little turbid, the bouquet offers gorgeous scents of garrigues, black truffles, a touch of the old farmyard, strawberries and clove, all beautifully defined, old school and utterly intoxicating. The palate is beautifully balanced, almost Burgundy-like in terms of tannin structure, hints of clove, fennel and sage filtering through the red fruit that lead to an elegant finish that takes your breath away.
Producer Information
Albert Dervieux-Thaize was the mayor of Ampuis for many years and a character of influence who greatly helped to develop the notoriety of the wines of the region. In the early 1970s, he was the only producer with bottles of vintages like 1929 and 1947, a winemaker with a rare sense of historical perspective. This estate do not exist anymore since 1989. It was at this time that part of the vineyard passed into the hands of the son-in-law of Mr. Dervieux-Thaize, a certain Ren Rostaing. The Rostaing estate, today considered one of the best in the Cte-Rtie appellation, brought together all of the Dervieux-Chaize vineyard in 1993.
