Producer Information
Isabelle Doudet represents the third generation of this family estate established in the 1930s. She succeeds Marcel Doudet, founder of the estate who worked until the end of the 1980s, and Yves Doudet, who developed and modernized the estate until his departure at the end of the 2000s. Isabelle, after her studies in the legal field, and following obtaining her notary diploma, decided to return to her passion which is viticulture and winemaking. To do this, she obtained her oenology technician diploma from the Jules Guyot University Institute in Dijon. Today, the Isabelle Doudet estate has 13 hectares of vines, cultivated using sustainable farming, with controlled yields. The winemaking work, entirely carried out by Isabelle Doudet, is done with respect for the appellations and climates. The manual harvest is sorted by hand before going into long vatting to extract the logs, which is the very essence of Burgundy. This is followed by aging in oak barrels, an essential step for optimizing the organoleptic quality of the wines. This aging lasts several months, and its duration varies depending on the vintage and the climate. Isabelle’s desire is to offer wines which will reflect a climate, a vintage, and which will be able to evolve favorably over time in order to offer you a real sensory experience. Our working methods are consistent with respect for our land and nature. It is essential to protect today this soil which will feed our children tomorrow. Thus, we have developed a viticulture practice that aims to be sustainable, based on observation; reasoned or organic soil maintenance which results in controlled plowing and a limited supply of organic matter for the fertilization of our vines. Each of our terroirs is different, and none of them can be treated and worked in a single way. The human part occupies a large place in meeting these imperatives (monitoring of microbial life in soils), assisted by the most recent satellite imaging technologies, which allow us to predict future work with great precision. within our plots. Our desire, through these actions, is to obtain the best health status for our vines and our grapes, which is the very basis of the quality of our wines while limiting the share of inputs in our crops. It is the decisions we make today that will shape the agriculture of tomorrow and it is our responsibility to set an example in this area.
