        Producer Information

Moillard is a historic Burgundian ngociant house located in the Cte d’Or. The domaine has land in the Cte de Nuits and in the Cte de Beaune, with half of production at the Premier Cru level. Moillard produces a range of wines in Burgundy from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Aligot. The domaine is based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, although its 20 hectares (49 acres) of vineyard land spread from Vougeot in the north to Volnay in the south. Moillard’s top sites include Pommard Premier Cru Les Rugiens, Volnay Premier Cru Clos des Chnes, Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Argillats, and a plot in the Btard-Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard. Moillard also has 73ha (180 acres) of organically farmed land in the Languedoc. Grapes are handpicked and sorted, then spend some days macerating post-fermentation. Wines are gravity-fed to barrel, then matured 14 to 20 months in new and used French oak. Moillard was established by Symphorien Moillard in 1850 and remained in the family until 2008 when it was sold to Vincent Sauvestre, who also owns ngociant Jean-Baptiste Bjot in Meursault.
