Producer Information
Domaine Jamet is a well-regarded wine producer based in Ampuis, in the winemaking heart of the northern Rhne, and best-known for its classical Cote Rotie wines. The estate comprises approximately seven hectares (17 acres) of vines planted in a number of small plots in the Cte Brune and the Cte Blonde subregions of the Cte Rotie. Plantings are nearly all Syrah, with small amounts of Marsanne, Viognier and Roussanne. The domaine was founded by Joseph Jamet, who in 1950 acquired a tiny plot of land and began selling fruit to ngociants. Domaine Jamet began bottling its own wines in 1976 and, following Joseph’s retirement, his sons Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul took over the family business. The brothers parted ways in 2013 and today the domaine is managed by husband and wife Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet, along with their son, Loc, who joined in 2015. This date also coincided with the domaine’s purchase of 20 hectares (50 acres) of vineyards in nearby Condrieu.
