Adnams 8 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company | 500ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Thick toffee, burnt fruit cake, and runny honey, with sweetly fragrant oak, floral redbush tea, and a murmur of barbecue smoke off in the distance.
Palate: Sweet, softly smoky barbecue sauce, chocolate nuts, and dense caramel open the way for a touch of hickory, cinnamon, and peppery heat.
Finish: Stewed berries nestle beneath woody spice, with cracked peppercorn warmth picking up for the finish alongside malty ale, charred oak, and a smidge of peat smoke.
Distillery Information
“You may know Adnams from their excellent selection of beers which theyve been producing since 1872 (were fans of the Broadside Bitter here at MoM Towers), but since 2010 theyve been trying their hand at making spirits too. Not only that, but theyre pretty marvellous spirits indeed! The Adnams Copper House Distillery is equipped with a spectacularly shiny Carl still, fermentation vessels (instead of traditional washbacks admire a picture of them to your right), and plenty of local grains with which to distil their vodka, gin, whisky, liqueurs, and even an eau-de-vie made using the aforementioned Broadside Bitter.”
