Ben Nevis Artist #11 2010 10 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Fresh, creamy. Marked by very nice milky notes.
Palate: Finely chocolatey and licorice-flavored.
Finish: Long, tonic. Green tomato fritters, coriander, chervil, and green apples highlight the spring character of the beginning of the finish in a most persuasive way.
Distillery Information
Ben Nevis sits just at the base of its namesake, Scotlands highest mountain. A coastal distillery in the Western Highlands, Ben Nevis draws its water from the Allt aMhuilinn which originates from two pools, Coire Leis and Coire naCiste, which are both sited a good way up the mountain. The distillery was founded in 1825, by the gloriously named Long John MacDonald, for whom the renowned Long John blended Scotch was named. After Long Johns death in 1856, ownership was passed down to Donald McDonald, his son.
