Distilled at Finger Lakes Distilling on the 25 March 2015, matured for 4 years in a new oak charred barrel and bottled with an outrun of 168 bottles. The cask was coopered from 36 month air dried staves that were then charred to a #4. Mashbill: 70% corn, 20% wheat & 10% malted barley.
Bourbon Whiskey 2015 SMWS B6.2 Pumpkin Red Apple Sauce | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Freshly baked, fluffy vanilla cupcakes, breakfast cereals made out of toasted maize and wheat squares with a brown sugar flavour.
Palate: a wonderfully creamy texture like pumpkin apple sauce with plenty of brown sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and lemon zest.
Finish: lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression.
Distillery Information
Finger Lakes Distilling has been in operation since 2009. They are located in Burdett (17 miles west of the inn) on the east side of Seneca Lake and are open daily 11-5. Like many small businesses in the Finger Lakes region, Finger Lakes Distilling, led by founder and owner Brian McKenzie, takes pride in being a part of our community by sourcing locally. They are a NYS Farm Distillery, which means they source at least 75 percent of their ingredients from New York. Using local grain gives the distillery ultimate control over the entire production process with no guesses to the quality.
