“So the story goes that in 1889 a Swiss merchant, after having sailed the Caribbean, returned to his hometown of Basel and founded Compagnie Rhumire de Ble contract that and you have CoRuBa, or Coruba. By 1929 it owned Jamaica-based The Rum Company, which was eventually sold to the J. Wray & Nephew Group in 1965.”
