2024 sees the Glenlivet distillery celebrate its 200th Anniversary, and this special edition 12-year-old single malt was created especially to mark the occasion. Instead of the combo of European and American oak casks used to mature the classic Glenlivet 12, this single malt was selected entirely from American oak casks imparting generously creamy layers of buttery oak, vanilla, and toasted coconut to the juicy, sweet citrus and tropical fruits at its core.
The Glenlivet 12 Year Old First-fill American Oak – 200th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet, tangy fruits lead the way with juicy pineapple, clementine, and a touch of citrus blossom. Hazelnut cream and vanilla follow, joined by caramel shortbread.
Palate: Fresh, juicy fruit aplenty, with ripe pears, pressed apples, and sweet candied orange, backed by toasted marzipan and oaken vanilla.
Finish: Toasty notes of coconut and almond linger alongside creamy vanilla, silky caramel, and elegant oak char.
