Wild Turkey 1855 Reserve 1995 Era Barrel Proof Bourbon Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: “Immediately presents a bifurcated nose, with a piquant whiff of varnish against a rich and sticky-sweet scent of taffy apple.”

Palate: “This immediately presents a sharply sour, citric note of lemon that carries with it a dry overlay of limestone.”

Finish: Lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression.

Distillery Information

The Wild Turkey distillery, originally known as Boulevard, was built in 1869 in Tyrone, Kentucky. The name was not Wild Turkey until 1941 when some, shared on a hunting trip, was referred to as “some of that wild turkey whiskey.”
